ANTENATAL CLASSES for pregnant women and birth partners


Our antenatal classes are aimed at couples wanting to:

  • Increase their knowledge of what to expect in the last months of pregnancy, during labour, birth and postnatally
  • Gain useful coping strategies for the last months of pregnancy, labour and birth
  • Explore how birth partners can effectively support mother to be and baby


Classes are run by experienced, friendly midwives and will cover:

  • Emotional and physical changes during late pregnancy: mother- fetus - father
  • Understanding the 3 stages of labour
  • Types of interventions
  • Place of birth - birth environment- practical examples for the partner: the role of a birth partner
  • Coping strategies for late pregnancy and labour : sleep, relaxation and breathing
  • Practising active positions to use in labour
  • An overview of the award winning the LK Massage Programme
  • Ways of giving birth
  • The experience of being born– what do babies experience when they come from the dark uterus?
  • Feeding your baby
  • Taking your baby home


Time will be given to discuss your questions

We believe in empowering couples and helping achieve positive birth experiences for all.

Our classes will give you the knowledge to make informed choices and the coping strategies to work with the choices you have made

Maximum class size: 10 couples - book early to secure a place
